AppTec currently services over 1,000 customers via its three state of the art facilities in Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Continuing Care Rx
CCRx is an institutional pharmacy company servicing over 10,500 long-term care beds in over 100 nursing facilities and approximately 25 correctional facilities across the Northeastern Region of the United States.  CCRx provides medicine distribution, medical supplies, nutritional supplements, and pharmacological consulting services to long-term care and other selected institutional populations.  Founded in 1996 by Thomas Trite, CCRx was owned by The Presbyterian Hospital System since 1998.

Core Essence Orthopaedics, Inc. EKR was founded to provide prescription products and therapeutic solutions that support and improve the quality of life of cancer patients. Oncology supportive care is becoming an increasingly critical component in support of patients as they progress through the complex arena of oncology treatment.The management team of EKR believes that cancer survival is largely impacted by the appropriate management of side effects encountered by patients undergoing therapy. EKR Therapeutics is committed to collaborating with the full scope of healthcare practitioners in helping patients adhere to primary treatment through the use of supportive care products.

Habit Opco
Habit Opco, Inc., based in Boston, MA, is one of the largest accredited healthcare organizations in New England providing multi-disciplinary treatment services on an outpatient basis to individuals addicted to drugs enabling them to function normally in society. Habit provides comprehensive services to individuals addicted to opiates and currently operates 12 sited programs and two mobile van units.

Immune Control
Immune Control, based in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, is a life sciences company that is exploring the repurposing of specific serotonin antagonists to block serotonin receptors to stop the proliferation of dividing cells.  The target market for the technology includes autoimmune diseases, transplant rejection, and some hematologic cancers.

Nitric BioTherapeutics
Nitric BioTherapeutics is a venture-backed biopharmaceutical company dedicated to exploring medical applications of topically applied gaseous Nitric Oxide (gNO). The Company will conduct clinical trials and commercialize gNO for the treatment of non-healing chronic wounds and for the treatment of other topical medical problems such as post-surgical infections.

Othera Pharmaceuticals
Othera focuses on the research and development of ophthalmic drugs that specifically treat Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Cataract, and Glaucoma. The Company emphasizes the conversion of past major research efforts into practical applications. The potential market for the company’s products exceeds $48 billion. Othera’s two drug candidates, OT-551 (cataracts and AMD) and OT-730 (glaucoma) are small molecules expected to be delivered in eyedrop formulations.

Precyse Solutions is the leader in driving peak performance within HIM departments of US health care facilities.  Precyse’s technologies and services support best practices in multiple areas including: remote and on-site coding, transcription, audit and education, cancer registry, consulting and interim/long-term management services.

provides specialty low air loss mattress and overlays, preventative foam and gel products, hospital beds and patient transfer systems to acute care hospitals, nursing homes, and other providers of wound care and bariatric services. The company’s products and services serve a $2.3 billion specialty support surface and bariatric product market.

RedPath Integrated Pathology
RedPath Integrated Pathology, Inc., based in Pittsburgh, PA, is a national specialty laboratory that provides complex cancer diagnostic testing for pathologists, oncologists and clinicians. Its patented molecular-based analysis, PathFinderTG™, integrates with routine pathology review of fixed slides, cytology and fluid specimens to render an early and definitive diagnosis where none would otherwise exist, thus improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

Scandius BioMedical
Scandius focuses on the orthopedic sports medicine medical device market. With proprietary expertise in bioabsorbable polymer implantable materials, the Company has developed a proprietary technology addressing arthroscopic reconstruction of the torn anterior cruciate ligament. The company’s long-term development plan includes fixation technologies in several other high-volume procedural areas. Since the Fund’s investment, Scandius has progressed its clinical development program and has obtained 510k approval with the FDA for its initial arthroscopic technology, with commercialization expected in early 2005.

Songbird Hearing Inc. has developed the world’s only digital disposable hearing device offering consumers a solution that is low cost and high quality. The Company’s products allow the millions of consumers who want to hear better an avenue to ease their way into better hearing, without the hassles and commitments that come with traditional hearing aids.

Sopherion Therapeutics
Sopherion develops novel anti-cancer therapies for patients suffering with advanced cancer, including metastatic disease. The Company has an exclusive licensing agreement with Zeneus Pharma Ltd. for the future commercialization of Myocet (a liposome-encapsulated doxorubicin-citrate complex) in North America. The company also leverages its Minicell Peptide Display screening technologies to identify additional therapies. Sopherion focuses on research and development of new oncology compounds, employing its proprietary drug discovery platform to develop novel specialty biopharmaceuticals, which it markets.
