NewSpring Capital is Pleased to Announce Promotions and New Hires

RADNOR, PA, April 29, 2008 – NewSpring Capital, a leading Mid-Atlantic based family of private equity funds, announces today, two internal promotions and two new hires to its investment team. The promotions and new hires were made in response to NewSpring's continued growth in establishing new funds and its growing capital under management, which is now more than $500 million. "In large part, our success and continued growth are attributable to our ability to retain and attract talented investment professionals," says Jon Schwartz, Partner and Chief Financial Officer of NewSpring.

To recognize their accomplishments, NewSpring Capital has promoted both Eric Jensen and Adam VeVerka to Associate. Both Eric and Adam will continue to dedicate their efforts across each of NewSpring Capital's fund families. The promotions were made to recognize their efforts in helping to deploy capital and support the firm's diligent investment process over the past few years.

Jon Schwartz commented, "Through their time at NewSpring, both Adam and Eric have acquired extensive private equity investment knowledge covering the full spectrum of the investment process. They've both built solid foundations relevant to their roles as investment professionals."

Eric Jensen was hired as an Analyst in 2005. Prior to joining NewSpring Capital, Eric was a Senior Analyst at AIG Global Investment Group, where he helped manage a $6 billion private equity portfolio focused on leveraged buyout and venture capital investments. Eric graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics. Over the past three years, Eric has worked on several investments including LiquidHub, Quest Discovery Services, Recovercare, Smart Destinations, Songbird Hearing and TMG Health.

Adam VeVerka joined NewSpring Capital in 2006 as an Analyst. Prior to joining NewSpring Capital, Adam was an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse where he assisted on several transactions in the financial institutions and financial technology sectors. Prior to this role, Adam worked in Credit Suisse's Information Technology division, where he worked closely with the Chief Technology Officer evaluating new technologies for the firm. Adam graduated from the University of Cincinnati's honors business program with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology and minors in Finance and Real Estate. Since joining NewSpring, Adam has worked on several investments including Bluenog, Faxitron X-Ray, National Manufacturing, ProfitPoint, V12 Group and York Telecom.

NewSpring Capital is pleased to have welcomed two new members to its investment team in the past six months to support its growing presence in the Mid-Atlantic. "It is crucial that we recruit top-notch candidates that will help us maintain investment pace and to support our growing organization," says Jon Schwartz.

Dr. Kapila Ratnam was hired as a Senior Associate in 2007, to focus her efforts on healthcare investing via NewSpring Health Capital. Kapila brings over 10 years of experience in healthcare, with a specific focus on drug discovery and enabling life science technologies. Kapila also has expertise in clinical drug development and Food and Drug Administration regulations. "We are thrilled to have Kapila join our team," says Brian G. Murphy, General Partner of NewSpring Capital. "We value the field experience and scientific knowledge she brings to our analytical investment approach and depth she brings to the investment team," says Murphy. Prior to NewSpring Capital, Kapila worked at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and PSI International, Inc. She has a Ph.D. from the Ohio State University and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania. Kapila also has an MBA from Columbia University.

Matthew Plevelich was hired as an Analyst at NewSpring Capital in 2008 after graduation from George Washington University. Matt will spend his time as an investment professional across each of the NewSpring Capital fund families. While completing his degree, Matt spent considerable time as an intern at Ferris, Baker Watts, where he performed in depth research for high net worth clients. Matt graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A with a concentration in Finance and a designation as a Dean's Scholar in Globalization.
